Changing Room Facilities at Harpenden Rugby Club, Hertfordshire
Project Overview
We are proud to have secured planning approval for new modular changing room facilities at Harpenden Rugby Club. Acting as Architectural Lead from RIBA Stages 0–5, we delivered a design that supports the club’s growth and promotes inclusive and accessible sports facilities for both men’s and women’s teams.
Design Features
The new modular changing rooms enhance the club experience and include:
- Multiple changing rooms and showers
- Dedicated WCs and physio space
- Accessible and inclusive design
- Low-impact, lightweight modular construction
The design maximises efficiency of the existing site and integrates sensitively into the surrounding Green Belt environment.
Site and Planning Approach
Located on an underutilised brownfield area, the scheme has been designed to:
- Improve accessibility for all players
- Support simultaneous use by men’s and women’s teams
- Maintain a low environmental impact
- Respect the local Green Belt context
